The Panthers field hockey club is a competitive middle school team consisting of girls grades 5-8. Anyone is welcome to tryout (see tryout page for dates). The Panthers field three teams, two varsity and one JV. Games are played at Clover Hill Athletic Complex on Genito Rd. Teams the Panthers play include Collegiate, Millwood, St. Catherine's, Orchard House, Norfolk Academy, Godwin JV, St. Gertrude's, Trinity, Fredricksburg Academy, Steward and others.

Founded in 2005 by Betsy Ellis, the Panthers have grown from one small team to three larger teams in three short years. Coach Ellis allows anyone to tryout for the team since field hockey is not offered in the public school system.

All of our coaches believe that being a part of a field hockey program gives girls the knowledge and skills to play in high school and possibly for some to play in the college level of play. A strong dedication to team work and working together is incorporated in the Panthers Hockey program.
